CLIENT: National Literacy Trust / Premier League
Jim Sells, creator of Premier League Reading Stars, came to us with a challenge: 1 Month, 20 Premier League Clubs, 120 videos. The task, to capture the passion football stars have for reading and pass it on to thousands of school kids. We set about filming at each Premier League club in England and Wales with the simple mission to create fun and engaging videos for the children.
We filmed each footballer talking about their favourite books and also showing us a trick or two along the way, as well as their advice for children looking ahead to their futures. The videos were used in schools alongside a bespoke teaching programme.
We have great memories of being on the road, bouncing from club to club, with a mixture of locations, characters and set ups along the way. In sport, you often have to set up extremely quickly and be able to adapt to various situations, something we do well whilst also achieving a cinematic finish.
“Working with Ian and John is a joy. They embedded themselves fully with the aim of our programme – which is to increase motivation and attainment for reluctant readers – so that they could really understand what we needed to achieve. They put in so much effort and really dedicated themselves to the programme, resulting in films which are attractive, exciting and engaging.”
